All-on-4 Dental Implants

Widespread tooth loss can lead to problems with speaking and eating, as well as take a toll on your self-image. All-on-4® dental implants can support a full arch of teeth on just four implants. See how Redlands Family Dentistry in Redlands, CA, can provide you with this revolutionary alternative to traditional dentures and implants.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

All-on-4 dental implants is a treatment plan that can support a full denture on just four implants. Like traditional implants, All-on-4 implants replace tooth roots in the jawbone, but they are placed strategically to maximize support from your bone tissue. You can receive All-on-4 for both your upper and lower arches, if necessary.

Our dental office usually places implants made from titanium, a durable and time-tested material. We use implants crafted by brands like Nobel Biocare, Zimmer, and Straumann®.

Restore Your Smile Without Extensive Dental Work

Implant-supported dentures are recognized as the best way to restore a full arch of teeth, but some patients may not qualify for the procedure. At Redlands Family Dentistry, our dentists are proud to offer All-on-4 dental implants so patients can qualify for treatment and reap the benefits of implant-supported dentures.

Determining if All-on-4 Is Right for You

During your consultation, our dentists will perform an examination of your mouth and inquire about your medical history to determine your candidacy for All-on-4 dental implants.

Tooth Loss

If you are missing all of your teeth on one or both of your dental arches or need to have a remaining tooth (or teeth) extracted, you may be a good candidate for All-on-4. Our dentists can sometimes extract a damaged tooth and place dental implants in the same visit.

Less extensive tooth loss may make you a better candidate for crowns, bridges, or partial dentures instead.

Bone Recession

All-on-4 dental implants are strategically placed in your jawbone so they maximize the use of the available bone mass. This makes them the best restorative option for patients who require dentures but don't have enough bone mass to support traditional dental implants without a preparatory bone grafting procedure.

Our dentists will first determine how much bone density you have because low bone density can increase the risk of implant failure.

Overall Health

Those who want to undergo any kind of surgery must be in good overall health to reduce the risk of complications and to help ensure their procedure and recovery can go smoothly. Additionally, patients should not use nicotine products so they can heal properly after surgery.

The All-on-4 Treatment Timeline What to Expect from Our Dentists in Redlands

Your dental implant consultation and implant placement surgery will take place at our Redlands, CA, office. The treatment timeline will involve several steps:
We perform state-of-the-art guided surgery using Sirona Galileo 3D imaging technology.
We perform state-of-the-art guided surgery using Sirona Galileo 3D imaging technology.

Consultation

Your treatment will begin with a consultation at our Redlands practice where one of our dentists will give you a thorough examination. This exam will include X-rays that will allow our dentists to determine the most ideal location in your jawbone to place your implants for maximum stability.

Anesthesia

Prior to your implant placement procedure, our dentist will administer local anesthesia to numb the treatment area and ensure your comfort. Our Redlands office also offers sedation options to help you relax during the procedure.

Implants

If needed, tooth extractions will be performed. Incisions will be made in your gums and your implants will be carefully inserted into your jaw. Our office performs guided surgery with 3D imaging technology like Sirona Galileo. After each implant is placed, the incisions in your gums will be closed.

Restoration

A temporary denture will then be connected to the implants so you can leave our Redlands office with a fully functional smile. Once your implants have fully integrated with the bone in your jaw, we will place a customized permanent denture that has been crafted to look and function like natural teeth.
